My search for a stylistic synthesis continues. This time, I draw inspiration from a photographic reference. Starting with an existing image allows me to focus on form and color without worrying about the idea or subject. I chose an image with a simple composition and two complementary colors that dominate the scene.

How to start from a simple reference and create an interesting illustration. 🧐

Step 1️⃣ Look for stylization and dynamism.

Step 2️⃣ Set lighting and shadows.

Step 3️⃣ Add colors and details without losing the initial dynamism.

Starting from a photographic subject, I try to reduce the complexity of shapes and achieve a balanced composition. The chiaroscuro is still an aspect I have a lot of room for improvement in.
